Stock reservations

Twenty books on a shelf are already committed to a customer order. Physical quantity alone can overstate what the storekeeper can promise to another customer. Reservations keep that demand visible separately from the stock movement.

Review a reservation

  1. Open Inventory > Reservations.
  2. Find the item and warehouse and review its demand reference, reserved quantity, consumed or released amounts and status.
  3. Check the source order and fulfillment before deciding whether the commitment is still needed.
Reservations is a review and release surface for stock committed by supported source workflows.

Release an eligible commitment

  1. Use the reservation’s Release action when available to your role.
  2. Enter a specific reason and confirm the release.
  3. Refresh the reservation and availability before promising the freed quantity elsewhere.

Reservation is not delivery

A reservation does not remove goods from the warehouse or prove they reached the customer. Delivery or issue supplies the movement evidence. Releasing a reservation does not reverse an already posted delivery.

This page does not provide a free-standing New reservation form. Review commitments created through the supported demand workflow rather than looking for an inventory receipt action.
